National Center for Employee Ownership
The National Center for Employee Ownership (NCEO) is a private, non-profit membership and research organization. Supported by its members and publications, the NCEO serves as a leading source of accurate, unbiased information on broadly shared equity plans of all types, ranging from employee stock ownership plans (ESOPs) to stock options to restricted stock and more. It also has been a leader in promoting the creation of a more participative and productive ownership culture at companies that share equity. The NCEO is the main publisher and research source in the field, holds a number of seminars and conferences annually, and provides services to its thousands of members. Its web site provides a wealth of information on employee ownership and participation. NCEO members receive a newsletter, the right to call or email for advice, discounts on books and meetings, and access to a number of online tools and resources in the members-only area of its web site.
Ohio Employee Ownership Center
The Ohio Employee Ownership Center (OEOC) is a nonprofit, university-based program providing outreach, information, and preliminary technical assistance to Ohio employees and business owners interested in exploring employee ownership. OEOC also provides ownership training on a single or a multi-company basis to existing employee-owned firms.
Certified Equity Professional Institute of Santa Clara College
The Certified Equity Professional (CEP) Institute was founded in 1989 by a group of equity compensation professionals in the San Francisco Bay area. CEP's mission is to establish, promote, and provide continuing education for the profession of equity compensation administration. The site has a quick quiz for testing equity compensation knowledge and provides information on courses and certification processes.
ESOP Association
The ESOP Association is a non-profit, membership organization that advocates on behalf of ESOP companies and the benefits of employee ownership. It provides educational materials and meetings necessary for successful management of employee-owned companies. Their site has information on upcoming events and government issues.
Global Equity Organization
The Global Equity Organization (GEO) provides a forum for an open exchange between members, regardless of position or affiliation, of the latest information on the strategic, financial, cultural, legal, tax, communication, and administrative issues involving the use of equity-based employee compensation in the global community. GEO is a member-founded and member-driven nonprofit organization.
The Kelso Institute
The Kelso Institute is dedicated to the work of Louis Kelso, the creator of the ESOP concept and promoter of a more comprehensive economic paradigm to foster the creation of broad-based capital ownership. Kelso's economic theories are based on the proposition that, as the production of goods and services changes from labor intensive to capital intensive, the way that every person earns his or her income must change in the same way. This requires broad-based ownership of capital and strengthened property laws to ensure that the capital owners collect the wages of their capital with the same faithfulness that the labor workers now collect the wages of their labor.
Center for Economic and Social Justice
The Center for Economic and Social Justice promotes a free enterprise approach to global economic justice through expanded capital ownership. The Center has a unique view of economic justice and believes that employee ownership is one mechanism that can help towards spreading the wealth. CESJ's site has information on countries involved in employee ownership as well as information related to the Center's strategies for value-based management.
Capital Ownership Group
The Capital Ownership Group (COG) is a non-profit network of professionals, business, labor, and government leaders and staff, academics, and activists on six continents,which works to broaden ownership to deal with the negative effects of globalization. Funded by the Ford Foundation, COG has developed and operates an on-line virtual think tank and conference center from Kent State University in Ohio.
