Russia



The Beyster Institute established the U.S. Russia Center for Entrepreneurship (CFE) based in Moscow. The center is an initiative of the U.S. Russia Investment Fund (Delta Private Equity Partners), a leading private equity fund in Russia.

CFE is engaged in a variety of services to assist growth entrepreneurs as well as promote a culture of entrepreneurship in the country. This thriving organization, built from a standing start in 2002, continues to grow in prominence in Russia with offices in Moscow, St. Petersberg and Nizhny Novgorod. CFE has effectively located high-potential entrepreneurs, identified their development needs and connected them
with the resources necessary for growth, including networking events, seminars and conferences.

A few highlights to date:

Identified over 300 high-potential entrepreneurs leading growth companies

Conducted key proprietary research on growth entrepreneurs

Designed and delivered nine custom training modules based on real-time needs

Facilitated over $10 million of investment in Russian entrepreneurs

Assisted with one U.S./Russian joint venture and several U.S./Russian sales agreements

Developed case studies of successful Russian entrepreneurs broadcast nationally through media partnerships

Arranged participation of U.S. Secretary of Commerce and the Russian Minister of Industry, Science and Technology in a forum addressing policies to promote company growth

Introduced several award and recognition programs, including Ernst & Young's Entrepreneur of the Year competition

Established numerous networking events, conferences and peer learning groups

Reached over 8,000 people through programs, forums and activities

Served as feature presenters at major conferences including the Russian Venture Capital Association Annual Venture Fair, Russian Association of Business Education and the Latvian-U.S. Entrepreneurial Forum.

In a joint venture between Intel Russia and the U.S. Russia Center for Entrepreneurship, the Beyster Institute presented the FastTrac program for 15 Intel-sponsored participants in Nizhny Novgorod, the third largest city in Russia. FastTrac is a specialized method of strengthening entrepreneurial and managerial skills. Under a licensing agreement with the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation of Kansas City, the Institute has been able to translate and localize the program for Russian businesses. Over 50,000 U.S. entrepreneurs have been through this program designed and taught by entrepreneurs.
